Rev. Dr Walter Akuno, the Director/CEO is a trained Agriculturalist with a PhD in

Agricultural Extension from Egerton University. He has a proven hand on experience in agricultural Extension and community development having worked in the Ministry of Agriculture for over 20 years. He has also had notable tour of duty in the university sector spanning for 15 years in University administration both as a Registrar in charge of academic affairs and a lecturer.

Dr Akuno is an ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus and also a trained Certified Professional Mediator and a senior Lecturer at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in Bondo, Kenya.

He is the founder Director/CEO of Villages Future Network (VFN); having mooted the idea in 2017 though the NGO was registered in 2024. He has worked with various vulnerables including widows, small scale farmers, youths, orphans, PDWs among others.

His passion for assisting the vulnerables is immense hence the basis of founding this

NGO. Dr Akuno admires and believes in Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Inc, philosophy that: “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.” This mantra reflects his belief in the importance of continuous learning and taking risks to achieve greatness. Dr Akuno believes in Community empowerment for socio-economic empowerment.
